Founder + Owner + Maker
Artist, yoga teacher, backcountry guide, trail creator and lifelong student of the land.
Ciao, I’m Kat — founder of Wild Terra, a business rooted in creativity, community, and a deep love for the outdoors. My work weaves together over a decade of hands-on experience in environmental stewardship, sustainable trail expertise, and community-based projects with my passion for creative expression through jewelry and wellness offerings that support nervous system health, connection, and resilience.

land stewardship + trails
For more than ten years, I’ve collaborated directly
with public land agencies, nonprofits, volunteers,
and community partners to build and maintain
trails across the Midwest, the Rockies, and the
West Coast. I’ve led multi-day backcountry crews,
coordinated large volunteer events, and managed
complex logistics in remote, rugged, and high-risk
environments — always with a focus on user safety,
long-term sustainability, and Leave No Trace
ethics.

Some of the places and projects I’ve been part of include:
-
2 years on the Pacific Crest Trail – Mexico border to the Oregon Border
-
Continental Divide Trail – Wyoming
-
TAMBA Kingsbury-Stinger Trail - Nevada
-
Tioga Recreation Area – Minnesota
-
Detroit Mountain Recreation Area – Minnesota
-
John Deere Proving Grounds – Iowa
-
Numerous U.S. Forest Service wilderness trails in California, Washington, and Wyoming
Wild Terra’s trail model is small, skilled
crews with the flexibility to scale —
bringing in trusted, experienced
partners as needed to match each
project’s goals.

Wellness – Yoga, Somatics + Community Care

In addition to my fieldwork and creative practice, I offer yoga and wellness experiences grounded in trauma-informed, somatic, and polyvagal-based approaches. My classes are designed to help people regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their bodies, and cultivate self- compassion — whether in private sessions, group classes, full moon gatherings, or yogapacking retreats. These gatherings foster connection, creativity, and collective healing.

Whether I’m designing a trail, guiding a group in the backcountry, crafting a piece of jewelry, or leading a yoga circle, my work comes from the same place — respect for the earth, a commitment to community, and the belief that connecting with the land transforms us into more whole, present beings.
Creative Work – Jewelry + Art
Wild Terra’s creative branch is where my love for nature takes on a tangible form. I design and handcraft whimsical, nature-inspired jewelry and art, often incorporating real plants, flowers, and organic textures. Many of my pieces are set in resin to preserve the ephemeral beauty of the natural world — capturing moments, memories, and seasonal magic. Each piece is intentionally made in small batches or as one-of-a-kind works, often drawing inspiration from mythology, medicinal plant lore, and the landscapes I’ve worked and traveled through.
